How we research our reviews
Arepeat reviews are research-based. Unless an article clearly says we tested a product ourselves, the verdict comes from a structured analysis of what real owners and independent testers report. Here is exactly how that works.
1. We gather feedback from many places
- Retailer reviews from several stores, not just one, so a single store's rating system doesn't skew the picture.
- Community discussions on Reddit, enthusiast forums and deal communities, where owners are often more candid.
- Long-term reports — follow-ups, "one year later" posts and videos.
- Expert and lab testing from independent publications, where available.
- Manufacturer information such as manuals, specs, FAQs and warranty terms.
2. We weigh long-term experience more
A review written after six months of use tells us more about whether someone would buy again than one written on day one. When owners mention how long they've used a product, we give that feedback extra weight.
3. We look for patterns, not anecdotes
Every product has a few unhappy buyers. We look for complaints that repeat across different sources and different people — that's what separates a real weakness from bad luck.
4. We give a clear verdict
- Repeat — owners are consistently satisfied over time and would buy it again.
- Depends — a strong product for some people and a poor fit for others; we explain which is which.
- Skip — recurring problems or regrets outweigh the positives, and better options exist.
5. We keep reviews up to date
Products change, and so does owner feedback. Every review shows the date it was last updated, and we revisit verdicts when new long-term reports appear.
Our rules
- We never copy or republish retailer reviews word-for-word; we summarize in our own words and cite our sources.
- We don't list prices, because they change constantly. Always check the retailer for the current price.
- Affiliate relationships never determine a verdict.
- For beauty and health products, we summarize user experiences only — nothing on Arepeat is medical advice.
